Commando Skydivers - Golden Anniversary

Commando Skydivers has a rich and exciting history, playing a major role in the development of sport parachuting in Australia. It had humble beginnings in 1961, when an eager group of CMF members took up a collection and formed a club.

Over the years, the club developed into one of Australia's largest operations, notching up numerous 'firsts' at its Pakenham home. But it was forced to succumb to progress after four exciting decades, relocating to Tooradin to make way for a freeway through the old DZ.

Nowadays, we offer a smaller, personalised service with amazing views over Western Port. But we still have the warmth and friendship of a club that has survived for nearly half a century.

IN FEBRUARY 2011, WE HAVE BIG PLANS FOR OUR LITTLE CLUB'S MILESTONE BIRTHDAY.

Friday night, 4th Feb 2011 - a massive formal party at a city venue, to unite old members and new. Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th Feb 2011 - a big weekend of PURE GOLD skydiving!

Start planning your holidays now, because we're working hard to create a magical weekend. We'll be updating the club's written history and producing a DVD. Come along to look at old photos, or chat with mates you haven't seen for decades. We'll invite every old timer we can track down, and we'll show you how much the sport has developed since the early days of trial and error by the real adventurers!

Register your interest now, ESPECIALLY if you have old photos, equipment, funny stories or film to offer to the cause.
